Komodo 2D1N Private Charter: Short Escape from Labuan Bajo

The 2 days 1 night Komodo charter is the short-window option: one night on board, the whole 34-metre phinisi to your group. IDR 94,000,000 for one to ten guests, IDR 100,000,000 for 11 to 20, and IDR 4,000,000 per additional guest. It delivers Kelor, Manjarite and the Kalong sunset on day one, then Padar sunrise, Pink Beach and the Komodo dragon trek on day two. Manta Point and Taka Makassar normally drop out – there is not enough water time to reach them and still make an afternoon flight. Park fees are extra.
Rate note. Every rupiah figure on this page is the operator’s published rate read on 31 July 2026. Komodo National Park fees are set by government regulation, are not included, and change without notice. Ask the booking desk to confirm the current total in writing before you pay a deposit.
What one night actually buys
Plenty of visitors have exactly 48 hours in Labuan Bajo, usually because they are attached to a Bali itinerary with a fixed return. The honest question is whether one night on the water beats two day-trips from a hotel. It does, for one structural reason: the Padar sunrise. Day boats leave the harbour at first light and arrive after the sun is up. A boat anchored off Padar overnight puts you on the steps at 06:00.
| Day | Sites | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Kelor Island | Late-morning departure, hill trek and photography |
| Day 1 | Manjarite | Sheltered snorkelling, first gear check |
| Day 1 | Kalong Island | Flying-fox sunset from the deck, dinner, overnight anchorage |
| Day 2 | Padar Island | 06:00 sunrise trek to the three-bay viewpoint |
| Day 2 | Pink Beach | Swimming and snorkelling off Pantai Merah |
| Day 2 | Komodo Island | Ranger-led dragon trek, then the run back to Labuan Bajo |
What you give up, stated plainly
Two sites that people specifically travel for usually come off a one-night plan:
- Manta Point (Karang Makassar) sits well south-east of the Padar-Pink Beach line. Reaching it, drifting it properly and getting back within a flight-day window does not work at 6-9 knots.
- Taka Makassar, the tidal sandbar, is usually paired with Manta Point in the same afternoon and drops out with it.
If either is the reason you are coming, book the three-day itinerary instead. It is the shortest trip that reliably includes both.
Cost per guest as the group grows
A whole-boat price only makes sense once you divide it. At IDR 94,000,000 for up to ten guests, and IDR 100,000,000 for 11 to 20, the maths moves quickly in your favour.
| Guests on board | Boat price | Cost per guest |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | IDR 94,000,000 | IDR 15,666,667 |
| 10 | IDR 94,000,000 | IDR 9,400,000 |
| 16 | IDR 100,000,000 | IDR 6,250,000 |
| 20 | IDR 100,000,000 | IDR 5,000,000 |
| 24 (20 + 4 additional) | IDR 116,000,000 | IDR 4,833,333 |
Above twenty guests the extra-guest rate of IDR 4,000,000 applies on top of the 11-20 band, and the vessel’s ceiling is 22-24 guests across ten cabins. Larger group logistics, cabin allocation and children on the treks are covered on the family and group charter page.
Flight-day logistics from Komodo Airport
Komodo Airport (LBJ) sits about ten minutes from the harbour, which is what makes a one-night trip viable at all. Pickup and drop-off within the Labuan Bajo mainland area near the harbour is included in the charter.
- Arriving the same morning you sail: workable if you land before about 09:00, but it removes all slack. A flight delay costs you Kelor.
- Arriving the night before: the safer pattern. You sleep in town, board rested and the boat leaves on schedule.
- Flying out on day two: book an afternoon or evening departure. The boat returns from the Komodo Island trek to the harbour, and you want margin between the two.
The boat you are chartering
One night or four, the vessel is the same: ten en-suite air-conditioned cabins for 22-24 guests, a sundeck with a jacuzzi and an open-air dining area, on a 34-metre ironwood-and-teak hull.
